BIO:
Genres: anarcho un-pop, quantum rock, stoney reggae, meta metal, and post-modern protest music.
Members: C. W. Blue – guitar, wave drum, bass VI, melodica; O’ Velvet – keys, u-bass, melodica

With two members, a few loop pedals, an eclectic array of instruments, and unapologetic genre hopping, FJP defies easy categorization on all fronts. Though there are only two players, they deliver a full-band sound. Their infuriatingly catchy songs delve into pop, psychedelic, blues, experimental, reggae, world, and rock at the core. FJP is compared to a wide variety of artists, including Bowie, Dylan, They Might Be Giants, Ween, Zappa, Santana, Bob Marley, Elvis Costello, The Beatles & XTC.

The OKC duo, C.W. & O’V, co-founded FJP as a collective of socially-conscious musicians and multi-media artists in NYC in early 2011. Just a few months later, in May 2011, FJP received a Los Angeles Worldfest Honorary Award for its innovative use of music in protest. By 2012, they had relocated to Oakland, CA and formed a 5-piece band. They played a slew of venues in SF, Berkeley, and Oakland. In 2013, FJP was named a Finalist at Oaktown Music Festival for Best Song By A Band. In 2014, the duo took off on their own to develop a 2-member layered sound. At Mojo Theater in SF, they performed in two live theater productions and one of their short films was featured. FJP also provided music for two award winning independent films. The duo went on to tour and make radio appearances in CA and NYC, and are now back in their hometown of OKC. The members of FJP have been Finalists for a songwriters’ competition at VZD’s twice; once as FJP and once as backing band for singer-songwriter, Felina Rivera, going by the name Felina & The Feels. C.W. & O’V also joined singer-songwriter, Mackenzie Pulse’s band, Layers of Pink, playing guitar and bass for the band’s highly anticipated debut show. In 2018, FJP’s video for their song, Invisible Flame, was named finalist or semi-finalist at three film festivals in Austin and LA. FJP has found refreshing artistry and originality in the OKC music, comedy, and art scene and is now busy engaging with this talented community. As well as booking shows in the metro area, FJP is venturing back into film. Famed LA comedy duo, The Martin Duprass has joined forces with FJP to develop a short film that is set for release this year.

FJP’s C.W. Blue has collaborated with international music legends (Prince Francis, Emile Beni Soumah), as well as earned gold and platinum records for production work on Meredith Brooks’ Blurring The Edges.
